The Calaveras County Fair began in the 1890's.  From the beginning folks gathered and showed off their best livestock. That tradition continues today through the Junior Livestock Program.

Young producers raise products for the family table.  Others raise animals to assist others such as service dogs.  They learn how to care for projects such as rabbits and cavys (guinea pigs).  The program teaches responsibility and much more.
